DVD Audio Extractor

DVD Audio Extractor 6.0.2

Extracts the audio tracks on your DVDs and saves them into popular formats

DVD Audio Extractor is a versatile software tool specifically intended to - if you will forgive the repetition of terms - extract the audio tracks from your audio and/or video DVD discs in four simple steps, and save them into some of the most popular formats. It allows you to extract the audio not only from physical DVDs, but also from DVD folders or directly from AOB or VOB DVD files.

The program's interface is as simple as it is practical - it guides you all the way through the four steps it requires to do the job. For the first step, it analyzes the contents of your disc, folder or VOB file, and lists automatically on a small box all the titles they contain. Then, you can click on each title to see on a bigger box a list of the chapters it contains. There is also another panel where the characteristics of the selected chapter's audio are displayed, such as the language, codec, sample rate, and the number of channels. Finally, you are offered also an embedded media player, very useful to have a preview of both the audio and the video of the selected stream.

On the second step, you are allowed to choose the output format and configure its parameters. You can choose among Ogg, WAV, MP3, FLAC, a Direct Stream Demux, and a CD Image with a cue sheet. Depending on your choice, you may be able to configure details like the sample rate, the number of channels, the bit rate (quality), and the number of bits per sample. You are now ready to move to step 3.

On the screen for this step you can choose the output location for your resulting file(s), and you can tell the program whether to save each chapter on a separate file or not, to overwrite existing files with the same name, to create an M3U playlist, to enable normalization (in order to get an uniform volume level on all your files), and to set ID3 tags for them. Finally, on the last step you can select the thread priority, and the action to take place when the extraction process is finished. Then, you are ready to launch the extraction process. The audio extraction is quick and clean, and produces high quality results, always subject to the configuration you selected. The trial version of this program is fully functional, but you can only test it for 30 days.
